About Us

The Idea

The idea for Pimp My Statement came when we were trying to organise our finances using excel, and not being able to use it very well, we thought we could build a solution for our needs quicker than it would take to get excel to do it for us.

The Site

The site is built to withstand session injection and is securely served, which should put people's mind at ease.

However, we realise that not everyone may be totally happy uploading their bank transactions to a website about which they know nothing. If you are one of those people and would like to talk to us, use the contact form at the bottom of the page, or get in touch using the feedback suggestion once you are logged in.

The main reason for the site is for our own personal use, but we thought we should share the love a little and help other people out at the same time.

We hope you find the site useful, and are keen to get any feedback and suggestions you may have.

A note about internet explorer

Although Pimp My Statement works on internet explorer, it works better and looks better on other browsers.

We use a lot of CSS3 and HTML5, which internet explorer is slow to support

There are also security concerns regarding internet explorer. So much so, that the German government has warned against using it.

So, if you want our advice, you would be better off using Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox (although the German government has just issued a warning against using Firefox, too)

Roadmap

In the near future, we plan the following updates:

  • Ability to undo last transaction upload
  • Comparing date ranges for spending graphs
  • Number display preferences. Have it your way - add a currency format, colour debits red and credits green. Or black. In fact, make Pimp My Statement transactions look and feel just how you like them
  • Transaction Search
  • Facility to remember the format of an upload for each account, thus skipping the confirmation page

If you would like to see something that's not on that list, please get in touch.
